Court updates this week
This week: Alameda modifies phone hours to speed up case processing, Mendocino prepares for eFiling, and some courts announce February 12th closure.
Alameda County
To address COVID-related backlog and improve case processing time, the Court has announced modified telephone hours for its Civil and Family clerk’s offices as of February 8, 2021.
Los Angeles County
The Presiding Judge authorized continuances for criminal and juvenile dependency matters based on the high number of COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County.
The Court’s Family Law division announces judicial assignment changes in the Governor George Deukmejian Courthouse.
Mendocino County
As of February 8, 2021, electronic court filing will become mandatory for most Civil, Family Law, Probate, and Juvenile case types.
Customers can eFile with this court using One Legal starting on that date.
Placer County
The Court will be closed on February 12th, in addition to February 15th, in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday and President’s Day.
Riverside County
In a recent order, the Court has extended allowances such as extensions for some statutory deadlines and court sessions being held anywhere in the county.
The Court has announced protocols for remote Civil jury trials.
San Bernardino County
The Court has announced that new jury trials will resume on February 16, 2021, with safety protocols in place.
San Diego County
The Court will be closed on February 12th, in addition to February 15th, in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday and President’s Day.
San Francisco County
The Court restored services on February 2, 2021, reopening the clerk’s offices while keeping many health and safety guidelines in place.
San Mateo County
The Court has extended its January 12 Calendar Memo Order to continue to curtail court calendars while safely hearing some, suspend all civil jury trials and LPS trials through February 12, 2021.
Santa Clara County
The Court has declared February 1, 2021 to March 2, 2021, inclusive, court holidays for the purposes of computing time.
Sonoma County
The Court will be closed on February 12th, in addition to February 15th, in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday and President’s Day.
Tehama County
The Court has tentative plans to introduce voluntary eFiling on February 15, 2021. Check back next week for updates.
