Beginning March 24, One Legal will host its third annual virtual conference, Legal Up. More than 2,000 paralegals, legal assistants, and others are expected to join the free event and level up their legal support career!
Legal Up 2020, a three-day virtual event, will be comprised of live keynotes and on-demand sessions covering topics such as:
- Legal technology
- Professional development
- Court updates
- Workplace wellness
- And more!
Here are a few tips on how you can make the most out of this one-of-a-kind experience:
#1: Create an action plan
First, take time to peruse the full Legal Up agenda. Note which sessions you absolutely don’t want to miss and which are nice-to-haves.
Block off the time on your calendar to watch each of the live keynote sessions, all airing at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
Afterwards, four to five on-demand sessions will become available to watch each day of the conference, starting as soon as the live keynote for the day has ended. Set aside time on your calendar (and with your workload) to view some, or all, of the presentations for the day.
Don’t have time to catch all the sessions you want to? All Legal Up recordings will be available at least two weeks after their scheduled release. So while we don’t know why you’d want to wait, if you need to put a session or two off until another day, you can.
#2: Get your whole team to attend
We can’t think of a reason not to invite your entire team to this free event. You and our colleagues will gain priceless insights and actionable strategies to help your firm succeed. Knowledge silos are never good, and with constant court changes and emerging legal technologies, your firm can’t afford to stay uninformed.
Check in with your team members before the conference to find out what sessions they plan on attending. This insight will help you make decisions to not only advance your career but to be on the same page as your colleagues to accomplish firm objectives.
#3: Follow up with colleagues
So you’ve watched all the presentations and taken careful notes of the most important tidbits of information. Now how will you start to benefit from that information in your law firm?
After the conference, check in with your colleagues to see what their takeaways were. Offer to share your notes and invite others to share theirs, too, along with any actionable steps they plan on taking based on what they learned. This can kickstart an environment of knowledge-sharing and collaboration that will be just as beneficial as the information itself.
#4: Connect with speakers
Many of our speakers provided their favorite social media handles for viewers to find and follow them. You’ll be among the first to see when they post new content, and it’s a chance to learn more from these industry experts.
Of course, we know you must already be following One Legal on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, right? And surely you’re already subscribed to our weekly blog digest, where you get first access to product updates, new articles, court changes, and more.
What else do you have planned to help you make the most out of this year’s conference?
