Common Questions & Answers about eService
Q.
When you invite a party to eService, how are you notified that the party
has either accepted or rejected?
- If the user "opts in",
you will see that person listed the next time you create an eService
order. Until that person opts in or out, you will not be able to see
them on the service list. If a user tries to send a person an invite
that has already been invited for that case, the inviter will be
immediately notified on the screen that that invitee has already
been invited.
Q.
If you eServe a party that has agreed to accept eService, what happens
if the spam blocker keeps your notice from going through?
- If you have attempted
to serve a party that accepts eService, your firm will have lived up
to the intent. It is the recipient's responsibility to ensure
their email server can accept these notifications.
Q.
When you use eService, is there a link from the email to the document
in reference?
- Yes.
Q. How do you notify the court electronically when you have multiple
citations to be sent to multiple parties at multiple addresses?
- There are several ways to notify the court. First, as an attachment
to the filing order, list the parties you wish to have a citation sent
to. Second, in the Clerk Instruction field, you may include a note
to alert the clerk advising them of the citation party listing. Finally,
in the ‘Additional Services’ section of the eFiling process,
select "Citation (Additional)..." along with the number of
citations required. See example below.
